چکیده

We present BVRI photometry of the Type Ia supernovae 1999da, 1999dk, 1999gp, 2000bk, and 2000ce, plus infrared photometry of three of these. These objects exhibit the full range of decline rates of Type Ia supernovae. Combined optical and infrared data show that families of V − infrared color curves can be used to derive the host extinction (AV ) of these objects. Existing data do not yet allow us to construct these loci for all color indices and supernova decline rates, but the V−K color evolution is sufficiently uniform that it allows the determination of host extinction over a wide range of supernova decline rates to an accuracy of roughly ± 0.1 mag. We introduce a new empirical parameter, the mean I-band flux 20 to 40 days after maximum light, and show how it is directly related to the decline rate. Subject headings: supernovae, photometry

Late Light Curves of Normal Type Ia Supernovae

We present late-epoch optical photometry (BVRI) of seven normal/superluminous Type Ia supernovae: SN 2000E, SN 2000ce, SN 2000cx, SN 2001C, SN 2001V, SN 2001bg, SN 2001dp. The photometry of these objects was obtained using a template subtraction method to eliminate galaxy light contamination during aperture photometry. We show the optical light curves of these supernovae out to epochs of up to ...

Near-Infrared Properties of Type Ia Supernovae

The photometric properties of Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) in the near-infrared as garnered from observations made over the last 30 years are reviewed. During this period, light curves for more than 120 nearby SNe Ia have been published, revealing considerable homogeneity but also some fascinating differences. These data have confirmed that, for all but the fastest declining objects, SNe Ia are ...

Hubble Diagrams of Type Ia Supernovae in the Near Infrared

From observations of 7 Type Ia supernovae obtained during the last four years at the Las Campanas and Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatories, along with previous published data for 9 supernovae, we present JHK Hubble diagrams and derive absolute magnitudes at maximum light of 16 objects out to a redshift of 0.038. On the scale of H0 = 72 km s −1 Mpc we find mean absolute magnitudes at maximu...

Photometry of the Type Ia Supernovae 1999cc, 1999cl, and 2000cf 1

We present previously unpublished BV RI photometry of the Type Ia supernovae 1999cc and 2000cf along with revised photometry of SN 1999cl. We confirm that SN 1999cl is reddened by highly non-standard dust, with RV = 1.55 ± 0.08. Excepting two quasar-lensing galaxies whose low values of RV are controversial, this is the only known object with a published value of RV less than 2.0. SNe 1999cl and...
